The Arthroscopy Association of North America (AANA) is an international professional organization of more than 5,000 orthopaedic surgeons and other medical professionals who are committed to advancing the field of minimally-invasive orthopaedic surgery to improve patient outcomes. We endeavor to be up-to-the-minute, free of commercial bias, and to curate the most relevant information for our members and customers.

The Team

Laura Downes

Chief Executive Officer

Laura serves as AANA's Chief Executive Officer. She works closely with the Association's leadership to ensure the overall success of the organization's mission and strategic initiatives. In her spare time, Laura loves to travel, meet new people and spend time with friends and family.

Christine Nogal

Vice President of Marketing & Operations

Christine develops and oversees AANA's strategic marketing plans for meetings, education and membership. She is also responsible for member recruitment, retention and satisfaction. In her free time, she enjoys volunteering for the Association Forum of Chicagoland, running races and spending time with family.

Education 


Kim Santaniello

Vice-President, Education and Research

Kim oversees education and research strategy to ensure forward-thinking offerings and initiatives to support arthroscopy and minimally invasive surgery. She is directly responsible for the Annual Meeting and Specialty Day programs as well as ACCME compliance. In her free time she enjoys sharing the antique auto hobby with her husband, and fundraising for breast cancer research.

Alex Andryk

Program Manager

Alex works alongside thought leaders and industry partners to create, implement, and execute educational courses for AANA. In his spare time, Alex like to enjoy various outdoor activities like camping, fishing, and hiking with his dog.

Mathew McNutt

ELearning Manager

Matthew collaborates with member subject matter experts to further the goal of advancing the field with creation of innovative educational offerings. After hours, Matthew enjoys movies, concerts, Chicago sports, classic video games and spending time with his "fur-kid" Lucky!

Nick Sautter

Project and Research Analyst

Nick works with the education team and AANA committees to structure data and information coming into AANA. This data is most often used to evaluate, validate and create evidence-based support for AANA projects.

Vicki Markhardt

Education Program Manager

Terri Bruce, CFRE

Director of Development

Terri works with the Development Committee to generate funds and programs to support of the AANA Education Foundations mission to assist physicians with opportunities to engage in research, education and innovation in the field of arthroscopy. In her spare time Terri loves boating, festivals, and spending time spoiling her many nieces and nephews.

Rick Boyte

Education Program Manager

Dennis Siena

Vice President of Finance

Dennis oversees the financial aspects of the Association. He serves as the main point of contact for the Finance Committee and works with the staff to improve efficiencies within budgeting and forecasting. In his spare time, he likes spending time with family and friends, and is an active volunteer in his community.

Carrie L. Corona

Senior Accounting & Administration Manager

Carrie is all about the details. She manages membership and the day-to-day operations and accounting. In her spare time, she likes to spend time with her family and friends, and go to baseball games and music festivals.

Adam Fultz

Director of I.T.

Lynnsey M. Ruiz, M.S.

Senior Manager of Marketing and Membership

Lynnsey helps to oversee AANA marketing initiatives while planning and executing marketing, promotions and communications activities for AANA education programs. She also manages branding and design needs to maintain continuity across all mediums. When she has a spare moment, Lynnsey taps into her creative side by baking peanut butter sweets or crafting DIY goods. She also cherishes time spent with her Schnoodle Ollie.

Frances Park, CMP

Senior Meetings Manager

Frances manages all things logistical for AANA's conferences and events. She is also an accomplished pianist and a terrible ukulele performer.

Beatriz Crespo Vazquez

Education/Meetings Coordinator 

Beatriz is the Education / Meetings Coordinator, receptionist, and provides support as the secretary to the AANA staff. In her leisure time she enjoys biking, running, and spending time with her family.

Deborah T. VanNoy

Managing Editor

Deborah is responsible for overseeing the peer-review process of all manuscripts submitted to Arthroscopy and Arthroscopy Techniques. She is also the liaison between authors, reviewers, and the Editors.
