Through a “Case-Based” approach supplemented with didactic presentations, this course will provide an intense examination of the treatment spectrum for the management of meniscus and articular cartilage lesions. This will include all aspects of these treatments ranging from injection therapy to biologics to end-stage chondrosis treatment.

Not only will the treatments will be thoroughly reviewed, but nationally-recognized faculty will critique each of these treatment options through lively fact-based point/counterpoint debates backed by decades of clinical experience.  Last but certainly not least, participants will perfect these advanced arthroscopic techniques through 8 hours of hands-on lab time.

APEx courses were designed with the whole surgical team in mind.  Physician attendees are strongly encouraged to bring their PA, NP, RN, or other support staff.  There is no better way to prepare for real-world OR situations than to train together.   PA's, NP's, and RN's are also invited to attend on their own.  Advanced Practitioners who attend without an orthopaedic surgeon will be paired with one on-site.

Learning Objectives

At the completion of this course the participant will be able to:

  1. Examine current management of meniscal pathology and gain familiarity with meniscal management and repair systems
  2. Identify the current options for articular cartilage restoration and gain experience in the systems available for joint resurfacing
  3. Comprehend the importance of joint and limb alignment and gain expertise in osteotomies needed to realign the knee and thus protect meniscal and articular cartilage procedures
