Sports Clinic Laguna Hills Program

The Sports Clinic Orthopaedic Medical Associates, Inc. offers a one-year fellowship in Arthroscopy and Sports Medicine, with a significant emphasis on shoulder disorders. The program was established in 1991 and runs for one year, from August 1 to July 31. This fellowship is affiliated with Kaiser Permanente Irvine (Brent Davis, MD) sports fellowship, where we share core lectures, journal club and other academic activities. Our program faculty includes Drs. Robert Grumet (hip arthroscopy, cartilage restoration), Carlos Prietto (University Sports athletic care), Miguel Prietto (general sports medicine), Keith Burnett (MR- imaging) and Daniel Duggan (sports medicine). The program is ACGME accredited, and AANA recognized. The primary goal of the Program is to provide the Fellow with advanced clinical skills in caring for patients and athletes and in non-surgical, surgical and arthroscopic surgical procedures, as well as to understand the judgment in when to and when not to operate by providing an intellectual environment for acquiring the knowledge, skills, clinical and surgical judgment and attitudes integral to the practice of orthopedic surgery and sports medicine.
