Other Arthroscopic Shoulder Solution highlights from Master Faculty:
Title: Shoulder Solutions for Bone Loss, Rotator Cuff Repair with Superior Capsular Reconstruction and Orthobiologics (BONUS: Ultrasound Lab)
When: October 4–6, 2019
Where: The Orthopaedic Learning Center (OLC) - Rosemont, IL 60018
This course will focus on areas of shoulder surgery that are in the highest demand: arthroscopy skills, diagnostic and interventional ultrasound, and orthobiologics. Practical cadaver lab practice, exposure to expert demonstrations, and case-based panel discussions will round out the course. Lab instruction will be individualized and tailored to each participant’s needs. There will also be interactive discussions on surgical and non-surgical decision-making, evidence-based literature reviews, and little-known tips and tricks that may make the difference between surgical success and failure. Attendees will have the option to experience 2-on-1 or 1-on-1 learning with a skilled instructor to maximize cadaver time and create a unique surgical learning experience. There will also be plenty of time for group discussion, questions and case presentations, allowing each attendee an opportunity to interact and share with the group as a whole. Our goal is to provide the most individualized learning experience possible.

Train as a Team
APEx courses were designed with the whole surgical team in mind. Physician attendees are strongly encouraged to bring their PA, NP, RN, or other support staff. There is no better way to prepare for real-world OR situations than to train together.
At the completion of this course the participant will be able to:
- Identify and master arthroscopic skills from basic knot tying to the more complex arthroscopic surgical techniques for labral repair/instability surgery, basic and complex rotator cuff repair, and biceps management.
- Examine state of the art and emerging techniques for both arthroscopic and mini-open management of complex shoulder pathology, i.e. Latarjet, superior capsular reconstruction.
- Understand the most important factors involved in thoughtful preoperative planning, intraoperative decision-making, and trouble-shooting using up-to-date expert opinion, experience and evidence.
- Employ a case-based approach to diagnosis, indications for surgery, surgical techniques, and rehabilitation protocols for many of the most controversial issues in shoulder surgery.
