914 - Advanced Hip Arthroscopy (APEx)

The AANA "Advanced Hip Arthroscopy - From Posterior Hip to Groin Disorders" is a 2 ½ day course focusing on the latest arthroscopic techniques in hip preservation. The evaluation and surgical management of ischiofemoral impingement, proximal hamstring and gluteus medius tears, groin injuries, FAI and labral reconstruction will be highlighted with the combination of lectures, interactive case-based presentations, live focus demonstrations and hands-on lab sessions. The dedicated one-to-one lab experience can improve your techniques and surgical skills in hip arthroscopy.

Learning Objectives

At the completion of this course the participant will be able to:

  1. Evaluate and manage clinical presentation associated with common hip disorders and define performance outcomes
  2. Develop and practice surgical skill access to the hip joint
  3. Evaluate and apply arthroscopic and endoscopic techniques for hip disorders

The primary target audience for Advanced Hip Arthroscopy is AANA members and other healthcare professionals who desire to improve their arthroscopic knowledge, competence, performance, and patient outcomes.

Statement of Need

AANA has determined the need for this live educational activity based on identifying professional practice gaps, previous course evaluations and the AANA Self-Assessment Examination. The educational content of this activity was based upon current issues and topics provided by AANA planning committees and membership.

Continuing Medical Education/Credit Designation

The Arthroscopic Association of North America is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

The Arthroscopic Association of North America designates this live activity for a maximum of TBD AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

This activity may also help fulfill the Maintenance of Certification credit requirements mandated by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.

Requests for refunds must be received in writing by the AANA office at least four weeks prior to the start of the course. Refunds will not be issued for requests received less than four weeks before the start of the course.

Course Transfers

You may switch courses within the same year, space permitting, by notifying AANA in writing at least four weeks prior to the course.
