In Memoriam: Emory Chapman, M.D.

The AANA community is deeply saddened to share the passing of Emory Chapman, M.D., a dedicated orthopaedic surgeon, decorated serviceman, amateur boxer, educator and long-time AANA volunteer. Dr. Chapman served on the faculty at Wake Forest University through the VA and was widely respected for his commitment to advancing arthroscopic education and care.

 

Throughout his years of service to AANA, Dr. Chapman held several leadership roles, including Chair of the Learning Center Committee (2003–2004) and Chair of the Membership Committee (2013–2014). He also contributed meaningfully as a member of numerous other committees and task forces. His dedication extended to the Arthroscopy journal, where he served on both the Journal Editorial Board and the Journal Board of Trustees.

 

Dr. Chapman’s contributions have left a lasting impact on the AANA community and the field of orthopaedic surgery. We extend our deepest condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues.
