The Fellow of AANA Program (FAANA) recognizes AANA Active, Associate and International Members who have demonstrated exceptional involvement, education and advancement in arthroscopy. Set yourself apart with a respected designation that communicates your leadership to peers and patients.

FAANA Application Requirements

To apply for the FAANA credential, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • Minimum of five consecutive years as an AANA Active, Associate or International Member.*
  • Hold unrestricted medical license(s).
  • Submit a non-refundable application fee of $425.
  • Fulfill six total qualifications, including at least one from each of the two categories below (within the past five years).

FAANA Qualifications Categories

 

PROFESSIONAL AND LEADERSHIP INVOLVEMENT

Candidates may meet professional/leadership criteria by fulfilling any of the following:

  • Serving on an AANA Committee or Board of Directors.
  • Holding local, hospital or practice leadership roles.
  • Participating in community initiatives or medical volunteerism.
  • Providing physician coverage for sports teams (Pro, Olympic, Collegiate or High School).
  • Engaging in leadership roles with other medical societies or industry boards.
  • Supporting the AANA Education Foundation as a donor.
  • Surgeon Advisory Board Position for an Industry Company
  • Holding a government or military leadership position.

 

EDUCATION AND SCHOLARLY CONTRIBUTIONS

Meet the educational or scholarly activity criteria through:

  • Teaching, research or mentoring roles.
  • Participation in orthopaedic study groups or clinical trials.
  • Specialty licensure/board certification beyond Orthopaedics.
  • Publishing in AANA journals (Arthroscopy, Arthroscopy Techniques, or ASMAR).
  • Contributing to the AANA Podcast or educational program development.
  • Presenting or attending three AANA live events or claiming credits for three AANA CME products.
  • Serving as faculty for AANA or external education programs.

If you reside in a country classified under the Low Income Economy by the World Bank, you may qualify for a $325 reduction in the FAANA application fee through the AANA Education Foundation.
