Prerequisites
- Be a board-certified Orthopaedic Surgeon (M.D. or D.O.) recognized by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, the American Osteopathic Association or the Consejo Mexicano de Ortopedia
- Reside or practice in the U.S., Canada or Mexico
- Have completed an accredited orthopaedic residency
Dues & Fees
- A one-time $100 application fee is required with your submission
- Annual dues: $895 for U.S. Active Members | $350 for Canada and Mexico Active Members
- Active U.S. Military Members are eligible for a reduced rate of $250 annually. To qualify for this rate, send a copy of your military ID or letter from your superior officer to membership@aana.org.
- You’ll receive access to member benefits as a Pending Active while your application is under Board review; once approved, your status automatically updates to Active.

Obligations of Membership
To maintain your membership, you must:
- Pay your annual dues
- Adhere to all rules, regulations and criteria as outlined in AANA’s Bylaws
- Attend at least one AANA Annual Meeting within each three year period.
